Summary
The purpose of the database was to structure data of plant traits to allow multivariate
analyses. This framework requires normative rules of measure and organization
of the data. The trait list reflects the state of the art of research and may
change according to demands and new discoveries.
This approach will contribute to major contemporary ecological research question
regarding plant function, such as how morphological and physiological traits
are related and in which plant groups these associations have evolved.
