Presentation of the project

The aim of this project is to use new generation sequencing methods to allow the delimitation of tree species still exchanging genes (closely related species) and to infer speciation processes. The present project is focused on one pair of closely related species (Symphonia globulifera and Symphonia sp1), but will have a larger evolutionary impact by generalizing the method to additional genus with the aim of doing comparative analyses of speciation processes in the Amazonian forest.
