Presentation of the project

The aim of OUTIREC is to draw up a method based on AFLP markers (Amplified fragment length polymorphism) to allow the discrimination of closely related species still exchanging genes or having recently diverged. Seven genus will be analyzed belonging to different families (Meliaceae, Clusiaceae, Myristicaceae, Lecithydaceae, Ceasalpiniaceae, Lauraceae, Sapataceae). This will permit to do a comparative analyses of the patterns of genetic differentiation and to make inferences about the evolutionary forces involved in the speciation process.
