The AMAZING project aims at improving the understanding of traditional remedies vivid use in French Guiana by linking plants, people and diseases in a single perspective. We will select renowned remedies based on an in-depth study of existing ethnopharmacological bibliography associated to a statistical approach, and prepare them as indicated by the communities. These remedies will be evaluated as a whole not only for their in vitro activity against the parasites of interest, but also for their anti-inflammatory properties, as these could account for the preparations good reputation by helping to reduce the associated symptoms (fever and pain, or chronicity and severity of the lesion).
